Summary: College Assistant Professor, School of Social Work, College of Health Education and Social Transformation, New Mexico State University, Las Cruce, New Mexico. The position is a full-time, non-tenure track 12-month appointment, starting January 9, 2025. The position involves teaching in the BSW and MSW Programs, and providing service to the School, College, University, community, and profession.

Classification Summary:
12-month non-tenure track College Assistant Professor.
Classification Standard Duties:
Teach Social Work courses at the graduate and/or undergraduate level on-site and on our global campus as needed. Typical teaching load is 3-3-2. Support the mission of the School of Social Work through service.
Required Education, Experience, Certification/License, Equivalency
MSW from a CSWE accredited program. Two years of social work practice experience. NM Social Work license or license-eligible at the time of hire.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of social work practice and ability to effectively teach social work courses.
Required competency and skills include: In-person and online quality instruction, knowledge of, and adherence to, NASW ethical principles, the ability to positively interact with people of all backgrounds, engaging diversity within the classroom and in the NMSU community.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Applicants will teach social work courses at the BSW and/or MSW on-site or online and engage in assigned service including departmental/college committees. Position is contingent Upon Funding
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to provide quality instruction, a strong academic record, experience teaching across the social work curriculum and a track-record of community engagement and partnerships.
