Summary: New Mexico State University’s Global Campus seeks an Enterpr Instr Tech Admin, Inter who will provide support, training, and professional development for faculty across the NMSU system, focusing on the Canvas Learning Management System. Responsibilities include staffing the online open lab, creating workshops and materials, and performing other related duties as assigned. Initial schedule is 8 AM–5 PM (MT) for 6–12 months, transitioning to 12 PM–9 PM (MT); flexibility for both shifts is required. Position may be eligible for alternative work arrangements; preference will be given to candidates located in or near Las Cruces, NM.
Classification Summary:
Under general supervision designs, implements, and administers complex business critical, multi-tiered enterprise applications; performs work that is varied and that may be somewhat difficult in character, but usually involves limited responsibility. This position includes a cross section of duties associated with both instructional designers and educational technologists including supporting faculty and support staff to design, test, and implement educational technology aligned with effective instructional strategies.
Classification Standard Duties:
Under general supervision, plans, conducts and may supervise assignments. Reviews progress and evaluates results. May train Associate level personnel in technical complexities of assigned work. Recommends changes in procedures. Operates with substantial latitude for unrelieved action or decision. Reviews progress with management. Works collaboratively with IT and Business partners to effectively and efficiently maintain, support and enhance enterprise business applications. Defines and performs routine and maintenance practices related to application/system administration. Partners with assigned business areas to understand their business processes and configures changing business needs as enhancements into new and/or existing solutions applying change management best practices. Gathers and defines usability, reliability, and performance requirements; develops system metrics to track trends in usage and data integrity and recommends actionable solutions to address adoption issues and improve operational efficiency. With a strong customer service focus, collaborates with Help Desk to respond to requests from business users – creatively resolves issues; answers questions and clarifies business processes; designs and develops enhancements; troubleshoots and fixes bugs. Works collaboratively with Integration and ERP teams to implement and maintain integrations across enterprise business applications. Develops data quality/hygiene check and database maintenance plans and monitor overall system health, as necessary.
Lead in the delivery of instructional technology support services and the professional development for faculty related to the effective design and use of educational technologies. Align the use of educational technologies with effective instructional strategies deployed using various formats including face-to-face, online, ITV, or a mixture of formats (hybrid). Provide consulting on the use of educational technologies used for learning management, content multi-media authoring, learning assessment tools, asynchronous and synchronous communication, and any related technologies. Work with faculty to implement quality standards for instructional design, online/hybrid pedagogy and delivery based on national/international best practices. Beta test and provide recommendations on emerging educational technologies. Assist with the development of online self-help resources, website content, paper guides, workshops, presentations and other support resources for various audiences.
Required Education, Experience, Certification/License, Equivalency
Master’s Degree in a related field. Three (3) years of experience directly related to the standard duties as outlined. Equivalency: None
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of teaching and learning processes in adult educational settings (e.g. Community College, University, and Continuing Education). Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures. Knowledge of project management and personnel leadership strategies. Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of expertise. Knowledge of a broad range of relevant multi-user computer systems, applications, and/or equipment. Knowledge of computer security procedures and protocol. Knowledge of federal copyright laws as they pertain to the use of computer software.
Records maintenance skills.
Demonstrated ability in instructional design related to producing and teaching quality online courses/workshops. Ability to provide consulting related to building online courses efficiently with numerous instructors in a professional educational environment. Ability to plan, implement, test, and troubleshoot education technology applications. Ability to author technical documentation in paper, online, and video formats for the use of educational technology.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Provide faculty support, training and professional development for the NMSU system. Serves as a resource for Canvas Learning Management System support, training and faculty professional development. Assist with staffing the online open lab for faculty and students. Join a regular rotation for staffing the online open lab support for faculty and students. Create professional development workshops and materials. Creation of professional development workshops and support materials for faculty and students. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Special Requirements of the Position
While this is a remote position, we have a preference for candidates located in or near Las Cruces, NM.
The initial work schedule for this position will be Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Mountain Time) for an estimated period of 6 months to 1 year. After this period, the schedule will shift to Monday through Friday, 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM (Mountain Time).
Applicants must be available and willing to work both schedules as required.

Standard Work Schedule: Standard (M-F, 8-5)
If Not a Standard Work Schedule: The initial work schedule for this position will be M-F, 8 AM – 5PM (MST) for an estimated period of 6 mos to 1 yr. After this period, the schedule will shift to M-F, 12 PM – 9PM.
Environment: Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
Physical Effort: No or very limited physical effort required.
Lifting Requirements: Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 10 pounds or some standing or walking.
