Under general supervision, you will perform a variety of tasks aimed at maintaining the environment and enhancing the aesthetic appeal of our outdoor spaces. Classification Summary:
Under general supervision, maintains facility grounds and environment in a clean, attractive, orderly, safe, and healthy condition. Performs general grounds work that includes seeding, mowing, trimming, raking, and planting flowers, trees, and shrubs. Mixes and applies pest control material in accordance with local and federal regulations. Removes snow from pedestrian and vehicle areas. May operate trucks and assorted power equipment .
Classification Standard Duties:
Plants shrubs, trees and flowers; prunes trees and shrubs. Removes debris from stairs and walks; rakes leaves and mows lawns. Waters trees, shrubs and lawns and performs irrigation activities. Sprays for weeds and insects using unrestricted chemicals as required. Operates large power lawn mowers, edgers, hand tools and large vehicles. Operates pick-up trucks, flat-rack trucks and dump trucks for hauling purposes and for trash and debris removal. Performs minor maintenance and repair on equipment and tools as required; Assists in the maintenance of parking lots and other surfaces including asphalt repairs and minor masonry or plastering work as required. Shovels and removes snow and ice from designated areas such as roofs, sidewalks and entryways as required; Installs and removes outdoor signs, parking and traffic control barriers and overhead banners as required;May perform minor maintenance on roads, curbs, sidewalks, and storm drains. May operate various snow removal equipment.Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of equipment, tools and procedures of grounds construction and care. Knowledge of fertilizers, insecticides and herbicides used in grounds care and gardening.; SKILLS:Skill in operating grounds maintenance and grounds construction equipment.; ABILITIES:Ability to effectively communicate.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Plant/prune shrubs and trees. Remove debris from stairs, walkways, parking lots. Rake leaves and mow turf areas. Operate Grounds maintenance equipment, Operate large power lawn mowers, edges, hand tools, and large vehicles associated with grounds maintenance and landscaping activities.
Install and removes outdoor signs, parking and traffic control barriers and overhead banners as required.,
Weed and insect control Spray for weeds and insects using unrestricted chemicals as required.

Lifting Requirements: Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds.
Risk: Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment.
