Job Duties and Responsibilities: The Health Education Specialist Senior position serves as the senior prevention & health education leader in developing, implementing, and evaluating health promotion programs that foster student well-being, academic success, and retention. This position manages the peer education and health education internship programs, oversees assessment and compliance efforts—including IRB processes—and collaborates with campus and community partners to address student health needs. This position also plays a key role in grant development and manages fee-funded resources to support prevention and well-being initiatives.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
Associate's Degree + 4 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree + 2 years of relevant experience.
Equivalent Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Education, Counseling, Student Affairs, or a related field. Two or more years of experience in health promotion or education in a college or public health setting. Demonstrated ability to supervise and mentor student employees or peer educators. Strong presentation and communication skills with experience in workshop delivery and program facilitation. Experience with data collection, program assessment, and health promotion planning. Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with diverse student populations.
Experience developing grant proposals and managing funded health education projects. Familiarity with campus health trends, prevention best practices, and behavioral health models. Proficiency in creating health communication campaigns and using social media for education outreach.
Special Certification/Licensure:
CHES or MCHES certification
