Advertising Summary: Student Assistance Services is seeking a Program Specialist – Basic Needs to lead day-to-day coordination of Aggie Cupboard operations and support student access to essential resources. This position plays a primary role in managing food distribution efforts, including coordinating distribution logistics, supporting inventory and donation flow, and helping supervise staff and volunteers to ensure a safe, efficient, and welcoming experience for students. The Program Specialist also connects students to additional basic needs and social service resources, supports outreach and partnerships, and contributes to broader campus efforts focused on student wellness and success.

Job Duties and Responsibilities: The Program Specialist will be responsible for conducting a student focused inventory to understand the social service needs of the college aged population, develop and modify social service resources to include: management of food cupboard, prevention training/strategies, provide resource contacts and connections to community and campus services that will assist students in need. The Program Specialist will demonstrate the ability to advocate, organize, problem-solve and provide results for the students that are served. The position requires knowledge of supportive services and other resources needed for the population of the community.

 

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: 
Associate's Degree + 2 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Environment: Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.

Physical Effort: Moderate physical activity.

Lifting Requirements: Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.

Risk: Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
