We are recruiting for a position that will assist with planning and promotion of community-based activities for Navajo farmers, ranchers and gardeners in northern New Mexico.

Classification Summary:
Provide health-related education to under-served populations.

Classification Standard Duties:
Deliver community-based, culturally appropriate health programs. Conduct and provide prevention education and resources or health education activities. Recruit and organize groups of individuals with limited income and/or from minority populations. Assists with coordinating and implementing grant-related programs. Refers program participants to various agencies and community resources. Distribute, collect and document program information, including outcomes using various methods such as surveys and assessments. Maintain working knowledge of health activities and issues in the US-Mexico border.

Required Education, Experience, Certification/License, Equivalency
Required Education:High School diploma or GED.; Required Experience:Two (2) years of related experience.; Equivalency:Completion of a post-secondary degree or certificate may substitute for years of experience.; Required Certification/License:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
KNOWLEDGE:Knowledge of limited-income families, minority populations, and colonias. Knowledge of community resources, recruiting techniques, community-based education principles, organizational and consensus building skills. Understanding of ethnicity, language, socio-economic status, and life experiences of target populations.; SKILLS:; ABILITIES:Effectively communicate in Spanish and English, develop collaborate partnerships, utilize referral networks within local health care system, maintain confidentiality, and motivate people to engage in healthy behaviors. Follow all program policies and procedures, maintain records, and complete reports.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
This position is based in either San Juan or Mckinley County in northern New Mexico serving the Navajo Nation.

Plan and promote community-based educational training activities (webinars, workshops, TA) for Navajo farmers and gardeners.  
Assist in program evaluation and develop reports.

Special Requirements of the Position
Travel is required throughout San Juan and Mckinley county, New Mexico.
