Bargaining Unit Announcement: This is a bargaining unit position with American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees (AFSCME).

Contingent Upon Funding: Contingent upon funding

Standard Work Schedule: Standard (M-F, 8-5)

If Not a Standard Work Schedule: Occasional weekend and evening work required

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities: Enters and maintains program and daily attendance records for after-school events for up to 70 partner schools. Supports school personal using program data base. Sets up data base for each school to be able to accurately submit attendance records. Monitors data base for accuracy. The data position requires someone who is detail oriented with great organizational skills; able to research and resolve missing data concerns; self-motivated to complete projects and tasks; able to work independently reviewing and researching data for intricate details; able to work in a team environment, to support the STEM Outreach mission through specific projects as assigned; have strong time management skills to meet deliverable deadlines; comfortable with varying project timelines and prioritizing tasks to meet due dates; and experience with Excel spreadsheets.

The position performs a wide variety of typing and data entry assignments which are sometimes confidential in nature; and operates personal computer to enter data, draft, edit, revise, and print letters, tables, reports, and other materials.

The position meets regularly with STEM Outreach staff to establish work assignment and report school data. Other duties may include ordering and organizing materials for after-school programs; distributing curriculum materials to schools; providing support to fiscal department or other administrative offices; serving as liaison with partner school personnel. Drafts or prepares responses to routine inquiries; prepares photocopies and facsimiles, and operates a variety of office equipment. May instruct and oversee the activities of student employees performing the same type of work. Greets and directs visitors, as and when appropriate. Resolves routine administrative problems and answers inquiries concerning activities and operations of department/division; accepts, screens, and routes telephone calls; and performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: 
High School diploma + 1 years of relevant experience, or higher degree.

Equivalent Qualifications: 

Preferred Qualifications: 
Experience with EZ Reports Data System preferred.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Environment: Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.

Physical Effort: Light physical effort. Effort applies to no more than two (2) hours per day.

Lifting Requirements: Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 10 pounds or some standing or walking.

Risk: No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
