Summary: New Mexico State University’s Global Campus seeks an Associate Director, Online Undergraduate Admissions to drive enrollment growth and student success by leading a high-performing admissions team, managing end-to-end admissions processes, and developing strategic recruitment initiatives informed by data and market trends. The ideal candidate will have experience in adult online learning and a deep understanding of strategies to engage and support non-traditional students. This role collaborates across departments and with external partners to ensure compliance, foster innovation, and continuously improve the student experience from inquiry to enrollment.
Classification Summary:
Manages the undergraduate, transfer recruitment and admissions, special admissions, and/or international admissions efforts of the university. Supervises admissions staff to ensure effective and efficient evaluation and processing of student applications. Oversees data collection and management functions related to admissions records.
Classification Standard Duties:
Develops and implements cooperative efforts with two-year institutions including joint admission programs, recruitment events, and on-site visits to provide innovative services to students. Manages collection and retention of applicant data, including beginning freshman, transfer, international, and/or special admissions. May coordinate the development of computer systems and projects, recommend and implement information technologies to support and enhance established goals, coordinate the statistical reporting needs of the department, and serve as liaison with university's computing center with regard to student database applications. Oversees the supervision of personnel, which includes work allocation, training, promotion and enforcement of internal procedures and controls, and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance. Develops annual operating budgets and provides fiscal direction to the unit. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Management:
Lead and supervise a team of admissions advisors to ensure efficient and effective operations. Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to admissions advisors to enhance their performance. Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment that encourages innovation, productivity, and excellence. Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment conducive to achieving enrollment targets for undergraduate programs.
Enrollment Strategy Development:
Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement enrollment growth strategies aligned with organizational objectives. Analyze emerging market trends, competitor activities, student preferences, and demographic data to identify opportunities for program expansion and student recruitment. Develop and execute marketing and outreach campaigns to attract qualified applicants and achieve enrollment targets.
Admissions Process Management:
Oversee the admissions process from application submission to enrollment, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with institutional policies and regulations. Actively participate in collaborative efforts with enrollment partners from inquiry through enrolled including marketing, contact specialists, financial aid, and others. Implement efficient and student-centric admissions processes, leveraging technology to streamline and create a high caliber student experience. Implement best practices in admissions procedures and continuously evaluate and optimize processes for improved outcomes. Serve as a point of escalation for complex admission cases and provide timely resolution.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Utilize data analytics tools to track key performance indicators related to admissions, enrollment, and conversion rates. Generate regular reports and analysis to assess the effectiveness of recruitment efforts and inform decision-making. Identify areas for improvement based on data analysis and implement targeted interventions to optimize outcomes.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with academic departments, faculty, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment between admissions policies and program requirements. Cultivate relationships with external partners, including educational institutions, employers, and professional organizations, to promote the institution and establish pathways for prospective students. Represent the institution, virtually and in person, at conferences, recruitment events, college fairs, and industry meetings to enhance visibility and expand brand recognition.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and accreditation standards governing admissions processes and student recruitment. Implement quality assurance measures to uphold the integrity and credibility of the admissions process and maintain high standards of service delivery.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in admissions and enrollment management. Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and innovation to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of operations. Lead or participate in projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing the online student admissions experience and improve student outcomes.
