Classification Summary:
Performs operational, compliance and/or financial audits, investigations and management advisory services for the University system.
Classification Standard Duties:
Develops and executes audit plans and assists on or conducts initial and follow-up audits in accordance with professional standards and ethics. Participates in all phases of engagements, including planning, fieldwork, review, and reporting. Documents work performed, develops audit findings; prepares and presents the results of audit work and recommendations to management in the form of oral and written communication. Coordinates and interacts with administrators, faculty, and staff, and with external audit and law enforcement agencies, as needed; may be required to testify in court; may be required to interact with university students and alumni, and vendors doing business with the university. Consults with and advises university administrators, faculty, and staff on operational and administrative issues.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
KNOWLEDGE:Knowledge of auditing standards and procedures, controls and best practices. Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations and university policies and procedures.; SKILLS:Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite. Software and other application skills to quantify and illustrate results including, not limited to, financial reports, comparisons, impacts, and/or projections. Demonstrate sound professional judgment, critical thinking, and ethical decision-making skills to recognize problems and propose solutions.; ABILITIES:Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, conduct interviews, investigate, analyze data, document results and draw conclusions in a professional, comprehensive, clear, concise and organized manner. Ability build effective client relationships and effectively communicate information regarding the audit process and results. Ability to utilize electronic resources including audit management applications. Ability to analyze processes and make recommendations for improvements. Ability to effectively adjust to change. Ability to persuade and influence others.
