Summary:  Join our dynamic IT team with an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge network technologies in a collaborative teaching environment as Network Developer - designing, managing, and enhancing the network infrastructure across our seven locations to ensure reliable, efficient connectivity.

Classification Summary:
Under minimum supervision, performs work that is varied and difficult. Provides functional and empirical analysis related to the planning, design, installation, and implementation of the college/division network infrastructure. Performs remedial maintenance of file servers and network devices including the restoration of hardware and software. Anticipates and mitigates potential attacks through network or other connections to ensure the security of the system.

Classification Standard Duties:
Provides functional and empirical analysis related to the planning, design, installation, and implementation of the college/division network infrastructure. This involves infrastructure from the building to the core and the core to the Internet and Internet2. They provide connectivity and solutions to the departments within the college/division. Provide solutions to other departments which may include integrating with third party technology providers. Works with end users and vendors to resolve network hardware/software issues. May be assisted by entry/junior or intermediate level personnel. Analyzes college/division needs regarding use of network equipment and services, and provides planning, leadership, direction, and technical expertise network services. Assists in strategic and long-range planning for campus network services. Identifies and coordinates all local campus network application services. Provides advice and assistance and serves as a key resource person to system and campus administrators concerning network services facilities. May develop and administer end user training to achieve efficient utilization of LAN/WAN. Oversees the supervision of personnel, which may include: technical oversight, work allocation, training,promotion and enforcement of internal procedures and controls and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance. Sustains current of knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Required Education, Experience, Certification/License, Equivalency

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
KNOWLEDGE:Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of expertise. Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures. Knowledge of all aspects of network services facilities.; SKILLS:Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.; ABILITIES:Ability to plan and guide the development, installation, maintenance and repair of computer network systems. Ability to identify and resolve computer system malfunctions and operational problems. Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments. Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Network Administration: Configure, install, and manage Cisco networking equipment, including routers, switches, wireless controllers, and access points.
• VoIP Management: Oversee the Cisco VoIP system, which includes Call Manager, Call Unity, Cisco Jabber, and Emergency Responder, ensuring seamless phone communication.
• Infrastructure Operations: Lead the day-to-day operations of our network team, tackling outages, monitoring performance, and troubleshooting issues to maintain maximum uptime.
• Innovative Upgrades: Design and implement network upgrades to meet the evolving needs of our expanding student population, from bandwidth optimization to enhanced security.
• Projects & Planning: Work on critical projects, including private IP subnetting, network segmentation, and rewiring data closets to future-proof our infrastructure.
• Team Collaboration: Be a go-to resource for our technical team, providing expert guidance and solving network-related challenges.
