Standard Work Schedule: Standard (M-F, 8-5)

Job Duties and Responsibilities: Under general supervision, performs Journeyman level electrical repairs and maintenance of electrical systems, machinery, and equipment. Requires interpretation of wiring diagrams or schematic drawings. May develop wiring diagrams. May include maintenance of electronic or solid state controls having interlocking or interdependent circuits. Maintains State of NM Journeyman License and continuing educate requirements. Has working knowledge of the National Electric Code.

 

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: 
High School diploma + 3 years of relevant experience or an Associate's Degree + 1 year of relevant experience.

Equivalent Qualifications:

Special Certification/Licensure: 
Requires a Journeyman Electrician's License NM (EE98) or ability to obtain a New Mexico Journeyman Electric license within a year from date of hire.

 

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Environment: Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.

Physical Effort: Moderate physical activity.

Lifting Requirements: Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds.

Risk: Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment.
