Classification Summary:
Responsible for the development, maintenance, and implementation of information technology and enterprise applications, systems analysis and programming activities that enable a major organization's business processes. Prepares activity and progress reports regarding applications systems analysis and programming sections. Applications Development may include both systems analysis and programming 'from scratch' or configuration of packaged products created by third parties. Manages IT professionals and project managers.
Classification Standard Duties:
Directs the development and maintenance of a major organization's enterprise application. Prepares activity and progress reports regarding applications systems analysis and programming sections. Applications Development may include both systems analysis and programming 'from scratch' or configuration of packaged products created by third parties. Responsible budgeting and technical projects. Responsible for Desktop, Internal software application and file storage administration and support. Interface with central Information Technology to coordinate infrastructure projects/tasks.Manages IT professionals who design/develop or acquire/adapt application software. Oversees the supervision of personnel, which includes: work allocation and scheduling, training, promotion and enforcement of internal procedures and controls, and problem resolution;evaluates performance and makes recommendatiions for personnel actions: motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance. Provides overall direction and guidance to assigned project managers and reviews project requests. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties assigned.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Oversees and performs the efficient deployment of enterprise software solutions, ensuring their ongoing operational support and maintenance. Manage technical projects, delivering projects on-time ensuring staff complete tasks on schedule. Maintains and configures the NMSU’s ERP system with focus on .Student Functions and other systems.
Preferred Qualifications
ITIL is Preferred
Preferred experience managing technical staff successfully; preferred 5 years ERP system, currently Ellucian Banner.
Special Requirements of the Position
This position has been established as a primary key position under the “All Hazard Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP)” and is essential to operational continuity and/or recovery. In an emergency situation, primary key positions are required to report to work unless directed by supervisor or public safety authorities not to report for health and safety reasons.
