Target Hourly/Salary Rate: $53,165.80 - commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Appointment Full-time Equivalency: 1.0

FLSA Status: Exempt

Bargaining Unit Announcement: This is NOT a bargaining unit position with American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees (AFSCME).

Contingent Upon Funding: Not Applicable

Standard Work Schedule: Standard (M-F, 8-5)

Job Duties and Responsibilities: Prepares and reviews plans, construction bid documents and specifications for major and minor capital improvement projects and for alteration and renovation projects. Prepares, reviews, and integrates construction planning policies, procedures, and bid processes

 

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: 
Associate's Degree + 4 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree + 2 years of relevant experience.

Equivalent Qualifications: 
Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties of the position.

Successful completion of a 4 or 5 year approved Construction Trades Apprenticeship program resulting in a licensed of journeyman status may substitute for the bachelor's degree.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Environment: Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.

Physical Effort: Light physical effort. Effort applies to no more than two (2) hours per day.

Lifting Requirements: Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 10 pounds or some standing or walking.

Risk: Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
