Summary:  Come join our PSL Telemetry Missile Systems Production Team

Classification Summary:
Under direct supervision, provides basic electrical or mechanical technical support to engineering or manufacturing in the development, analysis, and maintenance of processes, products, or equipment. Often works in a particular discipline. Performs basic tests and diagnoses of systems, production processes, controls, test procedures, instruments, equipment, products, or product performance. Insures process controls are in operation and achieving desired effect.

Classification Standard Duties:
Assists in the planning and layout of experimental and scientific electronic equipment. Assists in the fabrication and installation of electronic assemblies and equipment from blueprints, diagrams and specifications provided. Maintains electronic equipment which includes testing, lubricating, adjusting and aligning. Monitors, adjusts, calibrates, maintains, and/or repairs simple manufacturing or test equipment, instruments, and fixturs. Assists in locating and correcting defects in electronic assemblies and systems, which includes making appropriate repairs. Assists in the preparation of project documentation such as schematics and wiring diagrams, to describe and illustrate systems operating characteristics. Requisitions electronic parts and materials, ensuring adequate supply is available. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Required Education, Experience, Certification/License, Equivalency
Required Education:High School diploma or GED certificate.; Required Experience:Two (2) years of experience related to the standard duties as outlined.; Equivalency:Completion of a post-secondary degree or certificate may substitute for years of experience.; Required Certification/License:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
KNOWLEDGE:Knowledge of basic electronic theory and application. Knowledge of digital and analog circuitry desirable. Knowledge of the tools, equipment and materials used in electronic testing, fabrication, repair and maintenance.; SKILLS:Skill in reading electronic schematics and wiring diagrams to perform standardized testing and troubleshooting of circuits. Skill in the use and care of tools and equipment used in the work. Skill in record keeping for documentation purposes.; ABILITIES:Ability to effectively communicate, follow oral and written instructions and establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates. Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Using established procedures and working under immediate supervision, performs assigned technical tasks. Assists in the fabrication of prepared engineering designs, drawings and specifications for assigned projects. Provides project field support for various telemetry systems.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge in basic soldering, small hand tools, electronic testing, fabrication, repair and maintenance.

This position has been established as a primary key position under the “All Hazard Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP)” and is essential to operational continuity and/or recovery. In an emergency situation, primary key positions are required to report to work unless directed by supervisor or public safety authorities not to report for health and safety reasons.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Environment: Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.

Physical Effort: Moderate physical activity.

Lifting Requirements: Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.

Risk: Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
