Summary: We are searching for a candidate to join a vibrant and diverse faculty in the College of Health, Education, and Social Transformation at New Mexico State University.
Classification Summary:
We are searching for a candidate to join a vibrant and diverse faculty in the College of Health, Education, and Social Transformation at New Mexico State University. The ideal candidate will assume a nine-month, tenure-track appointment in the Counseling and Educational Psychology department, which houses a CACREP-accredited MA program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling as well as an undergraduate major and minor in Counseling and Community Psychology. Teaching assignments will vary depending on the needs of the department but will typically include both undergraduate and graduate courses, including supervision of field experiences. This position requires research that results in annual presentations, publications, and/or external grants, in accordance with department guidelines for tenure and promotion.
Classification Standard Duties:
Required Education, Experience, Certification/License, Equivalency
Doctorate in Counselor Education. Counseling degree from a CACREP-accredited program. Licensed or license-eligible as an LMHC and/or LPCC in New Mexico.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated teaching success, experience counseling culturally diverse populations, and interest in collaborative research across diverse academic areas. Applications from individuals who increase the number of women and ethnic minorities on the university faculty are encouraged. Expanding the cultural and/or linguistic diversity of the department is highly valued.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Teach graduate and undergraduate courses; supervise graduate student practica,
field experiences, research and teaching; conduct research that contributes to NMSU/CEP research foci; and obtain external funding in these areas.
