Job Duties and Responsibilities: The primary duties of the position include directing outreach events, treatment programs, and community relationships at the Papen-Aprendamos Autism Diagnostic Center. The successful candidate will manage MOU’s from external funding sources that include grant writing, budget creation, financial management, and ensuring employees performance supports the completion of MOU goals. They will oversee operations of internal processes and make sure requirements at the state and university level are adhered to. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to implementing evidence-based autism treatment programs, mentoring graduate assistants, promoting community support of autism, and conducting research as needed.

The successful candidate will lead innovative autism programs, strengthen community partnerships, oversee grant-funded initiatives and operations, and expand evidence-based services for individuals with autism and their families across the lifespan.  The leadership role will support outreach efforts, mentor graduate assistants, manage external funding and compliance requirements, and promote meaningful community engagement and research initiatives within a collaborative university setting.

 

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: 
1. Have a M.A/M.S in Social Work or related field (LCSW, LPCC, LMHC, etc.) and hold an active license to practice in New Mexico
2. Hold designation as a Board Approved Supervisor with NM RLD
3. Five or more years of experience working with the autism population
4. Five or more years of managing grant MOU’s

Equivalent Qualifications: 

Preferred Qualifications: 
1. Experience providing individual and group therapy services including psychoeducational curriculums and parent training interventions
2. Certification in evidenced based treatment programs for children, teens, and/or adults with autism (PEERS, RUBI, ESDM, etc.)
3. Experience conducting autism evaluation interviews, ADOS assessments, and reporting results
4. LEND certification

Special Certification/Licensure: 
active license to practice in New Mexico (LCSW, LPCC, LMHC, etc.)

 

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Environment: Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.

Physical Effort: No or very limited physical effort required.

Lifting Requirements: Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 10 pounds or some standing or walking.

Risk: No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
