Summary: Teach Writing for Creative Media a 4/4 load of undergraduate writing classes for creative media majors, mentor and advise undergraduate students, perform departmental service, collaborate with other faculty on new curriculum and program development.
Classification Summary:
New Mexico State University is seeking applicants for a college track Assistant Professor in Writing for Creative Media.
Classification Standard Duties:
This position will contribute to the undergraduate curriculum in the Creative Media Institute, which offers a Bachelor of Creative Media with emphases in Digital Filmmaking, 2D Animation, and 3D Animation & VFX.
Required Education, Experience, Certification/License, Equivalency
An MFA Screenwriting, Playwriting, Creative Writing, Writing for Media or a related field is required, PhD preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
A successful candidate will have successful experience teaching undergraduate writing and media-creation classes and developing courses and curriculum that bridge various arts areas with an understanding toward the general education and curricular demands on the students of NMSU. Program leadership and curriculum development experience is preferred.
