Job Duties and Responsibilities: The Director of Aggie Prevention & Well-Being Programs provides strategic leadership for a comprehensive, campus-wide prevention and outreach initiative focused on hazing prevention, interpersonal violence and healthy relationships, alcohol and other drug
education, and student resilience.

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Student Involvement, the Director leads a coordinated prevention strategy that advances student well-being, strengthens organizational culture, and reduces high-risk behaviors through education, outreach, and skill-building initiatives.

This position is responsible for developing and implementing a public health-informed prevention framework that complements the work of the Office of Institutional Equity (OIE), which serves as the university's compliance and investigative unit for Title IX, ADA, and discrimination concerns. The Director ensures that prevention efforts are proactive, student-centered, and scalable, addressing behaviors before they rise to the level of institutional response.

 

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: 
Associate's Degree + 10 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree + 8 years of relevant experience. Master's degree or higher preferred.

Equivalent Qualifications: 

Preferred Qualifications: 
Experience in higher education prevention programs at a comprehensive institution. Knowledge of public health and behavior-change models. Experience with assessment, program evaluation, and data-informed decision-making. Familiarity with federal regulations related to Title IX, Clery Act, and campus safety. Experience working with student organizations, fraternity and sorority life, or leadership programs

Strong understanding of prevention science and student development theory. Ability to design and deliver engaging, educational programming. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills. Ability to work effectively across diverse campus constituencies. Skill in translating complex compliance expectations into accessible educational content.

Demonstrated leadership, strategic thinking, and organizational skills

Master's degree or higher preferred.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Environment: Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.

Physical Effort: Moderate physical activity.

Lifting Requirements: Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.

Risk: No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
