Summary: The role involves managing projects from start to finish, including assembling teams, assigning tasks, creating schedules, and securing necessary resources. It requires a thorough understanding of the project's scope and requirements, while also serving as the key link between team members and the requesting department's leadership.
Classification Summary:
Oversees projects. Assembles project teams, assigns individual responsibilities, develops project schedules and is responsible for determining and acquiring resources needed. Must be familiar with the entire scope and requirements of project(s) and serves as liaison between team members and functional area management requesting project.
Classification Standard Duties:
Manages, coordinates, and facilitates projects or phases of a large or complex project. Develops integrated project plans and implementation schedules. May supervise or provide functional direction to staff and/or student employees. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
The IT Project Manager supports the planning, coordination, and execution of technology projects within the central IT organization. This role works closely with project teams, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. The Project Manager assists in the development of project plans, including defining scope, objectives, deliverables, risks/assumptions, timelines, and resource needs. Collaborate with project sponsors and stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure alignment with organizational goals. Manage day-to-day project activities, ensuring tasks are completed on schedule and within scope. Track progress against milestones, update project schedules, and escalate issues or delays to senior project staff as needed. Serve as a central point of contact for project communications. Facilitate meetings, prepare agendas and minutes, and ensure timely follow-up on action items. Maintain clear and consistent communication with internal teams, external vendors, and stakeholders. Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including requirements, change requests, risk logs, and status reports. Ensure documentation is organized, accessible, and up to date throughout the project lifecycle. Project Manager participates in post-project reviews and lessons learned sessions. Provide input on process improvements and contribute to the refinement of project management practices within the organization.
