Summary:  NMSU- Alamogordo is seeking a Registra/Admission Spec, Sr to join our team. This is a regular full-time position.

Classification Summary:
Lead Registration and Admissions Specialist, provides information on available programs and eligibility requirements; reviews applications and related documentation for compliance. Resolves routine process problems as they arise, and ensures customer service satisfaction. Manages, expedites, and maintains files, records and other documents.

Classification Standard Duties:
Provides advice and assistance to students and their families regarding admissions and/or records, registration process,and eligibility. Serves as primary liaison with other departments and external operating units/institutions in the resolution of day-to-day administrative and operational problems. Train new Regis/Admiss Spec, participation in institutional committees related to hiring, recruiting and operations of Student Services, handling confidential information related to admission, transfer, withdrawal of new and current students, and daily supervision of Admissions process (all processing done correctly and in timely fashion). Participates in the training of new employees; participates in supervision of student and work-study employees and recommends changes in operating policy and procedural improvements by assisting admissions administrators in problem solving, project planning, and development and execution of stated goals and objectives. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Required Education, Experience, Certification/License, Equivalency

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
KNOWLEDGE:Knowledge of Admissions policies, and eligibility requirements. Knowledge of planning and scheduling techniques.; SKILLS:Skills in database management, records maintenance, word processing and data entry.; ABILITIES:Ability to provide excellent customer service. Ability to analyze and solve problems and to make evaluative judgments. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments with skills in gathering data, compiling information, and preparing reports. Ability to perform complex tasks and to prioritize multiple projects with skills in organizing resources and establishing priorities. Ability to complete moderately complex administrative paperwork.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Guides and monitors daily admissions processing activities to ensure efficient operation of the department. Complies with all requirements as mandated by the institution, state, federal and HLC in admitting new and continuing students, transfers, senior citizens, audits, and so on. Responsibilities include processing and scanning documentation such as applications, transcripts, diplomas, test scores, transfer evaluations, etc. Additional responsibilities include completion of all add/drop/withdrawals of courses, retroactive, medical and university withdrawals, academic probation notices, enrollment verifications, SID issuance, name and address changes, military residency waivers, and guiding student transcript requests within MyNMSU and complete record maintenance. Participates with recruitment and retention on campus and off campus events such as high school visits, community and surrounding community events. Special Requirements of the Position
Flexible hours in order to participate in student orientation and recruiting events, convocation, graduation, and other campus-wide or departmental events, as assigned by their supervisor.
