Job Duties and Responsibilities: - Provide leadership and guidance over the cataloging and acquisitions for DACC Libraries
- Work in a collaborative environment with up to 4 professional staff to obtain, process, and catalog both the physical and digital collections.
- Perform copy cataloging of library materials in accordance with established cataloging standards and procedures.
- Pull statistics from library databases for annual reports to NMSU Risk Management and national agencies.
- Provide training in technical services to staff at DACC and other NMSU branch libraries as needed.
- Assist with acquisitions, including receiving, verifying, and processing new material.
- Share oversight of the library's online catalog, with other professional staff.
- Participate in collection development for assigned subject areas.
- Perform collection maintenance such as: reviewing, updating, withdrawing, and replacing damaged materials
- Manage and maintain library databases, electronic resources, and access information as assigned.
- Support online discovery of library resources via the ILS. May include service configurations, integrations, migrations, upgrades, day to day management, maintenance, troubleshooting, and support.
- Teach 5-10% of library instruction classes per semester, create user guides, create and teach workshops, embed library content in LMS systems and create instructional videos as needed.
- Assist with the planning, development, and establishment of digital archival collections.
-Serve on campus committees.
-Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
-Provide research assistance in all areas at the reference desk and online; may include evening and weekend hours.
-Perform all other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: 
Associate's Degree + 7 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree + 5 years of relevant experience.

Equivalent Qualifications: 

Preferred Qualifications: 
- ALA accredited MLS/MLIS
- Experience with SpringShare
- Experience in reference and instruction services
- Experience working with outside parties; such as materials vendors
- Experience working with Alma/Primo

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Environment: Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
