Target Hourly/Salary Rate: $59,965.78 - $76,487.30, commensurate with qualifications.

Job Duties and Responsibilities: Responsibilities of this position include: Serve as the University's Audit Liaison between audit agencies and internal NMSU departments to include gathering and dissemination of information between the parties, meeting arrangements between internal parties and the auditors, and handling logistics of each audit to include room assignments and meeting spaces; Provide assistance and guidance to departments as they respond to audit information requests and follows up on any potential and actual findings; Directs the functional work of assigned fiscal monitors whose duties include the monitoring of all unrestricted expenditures, completion of numerous required financial reports and surveys, and assistance in the preparation of the University's annual financial statements; Oversee the financial sub-recipient monitoring function for the University.

 

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: 
Associate's Degree + 7 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree + 5 years of relevant experience.

Equivalent Qualifications: 

Preferred Qualifications: 
Bachelor's degree in Accountancy and Five (5) years of professional experience directly related to the standard duties as outlined.

OR

Bachelor's degree and successful completion of at least 15 credit hours of Accounting (ACCT) course work and five (5) years of professional experience directly related to the standard duties as outlined.;

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Environment: Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.

Physical Effort: No or very limited physical effort required.

Lifting Requirements: Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 10 pounds or some standing or walking.
