Summary: The Marketing Department at New Mexico State University (NMSU) is looking to fill a 9-month, non-tenure-track faculty position at the College Assistant or Associate Professor level for Fall 2025.
Classification Summary:
The Department of Marketing in the College of Business at New Mexico State University (NMSU) is seeking to fill a 9-month, non-tenure-track faculty position at the College Assistant or Associate Professor level in Marketing. The position start date will be fall of 2025 with a 4-4 course load per academic year. The successful candidate will be expected to provide innovative and excellent instruction. All courses will have face-to-face course delivery and candidates must be willing to teach in person across 4 days per week, occasionally courses are offered online (not guaranteed). It is fully expected that this hire will assist in "growing" the marketing discipline, and in playing prominent roles in furthering strategically important programs and initiatives of the Marketing Dept. Further, candidates will collaborate with faculty in the College of Business and across the NMSU campus in relevant marketing topics. Primary duties include teaching four sections of undergraduate courses per semester, advising students, and participation/service in typical university, college, and departmental activities. The candidate is expected to contribute to an educational environment that fosters learning for individuals from diverse backgrounds. Candidates are expected to be on campus and available for classes/office hours with students, events hosted by the college, committee assignments, etc. Candidates must meet and maintain academic/professional/practitioner qualifications required by AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business accreditation.
Classification Standard Duties:
Candidates should have demonstrated skills in verbal and written communication, and competency to interact effectively with students, colleagues, and staff. Applicants should have experience in classroom teaching, with demonstrated teaching effectiveness. Applications from candidates with teaching interests from all sub-disciplines of Marketing are welcome. Courses to be taught will be determined based on the experience and interests of the candidate, as well as the needs of the Marketing Department, and may include online instruction (not guaranteed). Work experience in the field of Marketing and Sales is highly desired, as well as experience in teaching a variety of Marketing courses. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Required Education, Experience, Certification/License, Equivalency
Master’s degree or higher in Business from an AACSB International accredited business school. Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional work experience at the time of appointment is preferred.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
The selected individual will be responsible for teaching courses in the marketing program. This position emphasizes effective teaching, requiring the development and delivery of engaging and relevant coursework. The faculty member will also contribute to ensuring the curriculum remains current with advancements in marketing and sales. Additionally, the individual will provide academic advising to students, supporting their educational and professional growth while fostering a strong connection between students and the marketing program. The successful candidate will participate in service activities that benefit the department, college, university, and the broader professional community. This includes collaboration with colleagues on program development, participation in departmental governance, and involvement in outreach efforts to promote the major.
