Summary:  The College of Health, Education, and Social Transformation has a job opening for a College Assistant Professor in Kinesiology to begin in the Fall 2025. NMSU is an equal opportunity employer.

Classification Summary:
The New Mexico State University Department of Kinesiology is seeking a full-time, completely remote, 12-month, college-track assistant professor that will assist in achieving the department’s mission of teaching and service. This position will work directly with the department head to develop and implement on-line courses and content for a kinesiology asynchronous degree plan. The faculty member must be able to provide undergraduate instruction in various areas of the department’s undergraduate curriculum.

Classification Standard Duties:
The faculty member must be able to provide undergraduate instruction in various areas of the department’s undergraduate curriculum in an online asynchronous format. The faculty member will also participate in faculty governance, strategic planning, curriculum review, student outcome assessment, and advisement of undergraduate students. Finally, faculty members in the department of Kinesiology are expected to demonstrate a commitment to LEADS 2025: https://leads2025.nmsu.edu/

Required Education, Experience, Certification/License, Equivalency
1. Possess an earned doctorate degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or related field.
2. Possess the ability to recruit and mentor on-line undergraduate students.
3. Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Evidence of providing service to the professional and/or academic community.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
1. Be able to provide undergraduate and graduate instruction in multiple areas of kinesiology.
2. Provide evidence of an ability to teach and mentor undergraduate students.
3. Be able to work with diverse faculty and students in a collaborative manner.
4. Provide evidence of on-line instruction and ability to design on-line courses.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
