Advertising Summary: The Department of Accounting and Information Systems at New Mexico State University is seeking to fill a 9-month, non-tenure track Assistant Professor position in the area of accounting. Applicants are expected to work full-time for NMSU during the contract period and fully remote candidates will be considered for the position. The position will start January 14, 2027.
Travel Requirements: Occasional travel and participation in in-person events may be required to support student and program success.
Location Preference: Candidates residing in New Mexico are preferred but not required. This remote position may be performed from most U.S. locations with a dedicated, distraction-free workspace and reliable high-speed internet access.

Job Duties and Responsibilities: The position carries a course load of 12 credit hours per semester and an expectation of active participation in service duties related to the department and college. Online course delivery (asynchronous or synchronous) is required. The successful candidate will have responsibilities teaching students enrolled in the NMSU Global Campus and is expected to contribute to an educational environment that supports learning for individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Required Education and Experience:
Candidates for this position are required to hold a master’s or Ph.D. degree in accounting from an AACSB International accredited business school. Candidates with a master’s degree must have at least 5 years of relevant professional experience. Those with a Ph.D. must have experience that will qualify them to meet AACSB academic qualifications.
