Summary: The Papen-Aprendamos Autism Diagnostic Center within the Departmetn of Communication Disorders at New Mexico State University (NMSU) is looking for an experienced psychologist with autism evaluation practitioner (AEP) attestation to conduct comprehensive diagnostic autism evaluations and develop integrated service plans.
Classification Summary:
The Papen-Aprendamos Autism Diagnostic Center at New Mexico State University (NMSU) is looking for an experienced psychologist with autism evaluation practitioner (AEP) attestation to conduct comprehensive diagnostic autism evaluations and develop integrated service plans.
Classification Standard Duties:
1. Conduct predominantly in-person comprehensive diagnostic evaluations, develop integrated service plans, and provide consultation to family members and other professionals.
2. Work as integral part of a interdisciplinary evaluation team and support collaborations throughout the university community.
3. Provide supervision and guidance to Graduate Assistants working with the Papen-Aprendamos Autism Diagnostic Center.
4. Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA and State & Federal regulations) and submit required documentation within established deadlines.
Required Education, Experience, Certification/License, Equivalency
1. PhD, PsyD, or equivalent in clinical psychology or school psychology from an accredited institution of higher education
2. Eligible for licensure as a Clinical Psychologist and AEP in New Mexico
3. Qualified to conduct and document NM MAD ABA Stage 1 Comprehensive Diagnostic Evaluations and Integrated Service Plans for individuals with ASD and related developmental and behavioral health disorders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
1. Training and experience administering the ADOS-2 and other autism specific assessments
2. Have advanced training and clinical experience in the diagnosis and treatment of ASD and related neurodevelopmental disorders, including knowledge about typical and atypical child development and experience with variability within the ASD population
3. Have advanced training in differential diagnosis of ASD from other developmental, psychiatric, and medical disorders
4. Have experience in, or knowledge of, the medically necessary use of ABA and other empirically supported intervention techniques
5. Eligible to work in the United States
6. Candidates must successfully pass a background check by start date
