Summary:  The Department of Information Technology of the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences invite you to apply for the position of Multi-Media Specialist, Sr.

Classification Summary:
Under limited supervision, responsible for developing interactive media and training materials for faculty and staff clients. Trains clients how to utilize software applications. Oversees client use of resource studio and configures, maintains, upgrades, and troubleshoots multimedia technologies. Tests new multimedia technologies and evaluates educational applications. Works with faculty and staff to design, develop and deliver training programs to employees.

Classification Standard Duties:
Under limited supervision, conceptualizes, designs, plans and produces interactive media materials for faculty and staff clients; determines format, approach, content, level, and medium which most effectively meets client needs analysis and remains within budget. Research, design and develop training materials for faculty/staff. The combination of training employees and working with employees to design training regiments for the programs and efforts they support. Coordinates programmers, animators, graphic designers, audio and video production personnel; evaluates and modifies media materials to conform to client needs analysis. Tests new multimedia technologies and evaluates educational applications; configures, maintains, upgrades and troubleshoots resource studio multimedia technologies. Trains clients how to utilize interactive, multimedia software applications and technologies. Consults with clients on selection, use, and design of multimedia materials and operation of presentation equipment; serves as a liaison between clients and software developers. Facilitates the use of application technologies for department needs. Plans and tracks production projects. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Required Education, Experience, Certification/License, Equivalency

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
KNOWLEDGE:Knowledge of planning and scheduling techniques. Knowledge of computer animation programs, processes and production equipment. Knowledge of professional audio and/or video tape editing and post-production procedures, techniques, and standards. Knowledge of established programming procedures and programming languages. Knowledge and understanding of adult learning principles and of a wide range of training methods, techniques and formats. Knowledge of curriculum development and preparation procedures.; SKILLS:Skills in the utilization of specified computerized graphic design programs. Project planning skills. Organizing and coordinating skills. Skill in designing and/or importing web pages. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.; ABILITIES:Ability to design and implement non-standard computer software education programs to meet specific needs. Ability to utilize advanced audio and/or video recording, mastering and editing techniques. Ability to implement and troubleshoot programming changes and modifications. Ability to develop programming specifications within defined parameters. Ability to provide or arrange for training. Ability to develop training aids and instructional materials using a range of media. Ability to assess and maintain quality of programming structure, design, and coding. Ability to provide technical guidance and training to end users. Ability to plan, implement and direct photography, graphics, audio/visual and associated operations. Ability to plan, implement, test, and troubleshoot system software. Ability to design, test, and implement non-standard computer software to meet specific needs. Ability to provide a range of systems training and/or support activities for users. Ability to plan and implement production and operational schedules. Use independent judgement and initiative.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Job duties include but are not limited to video production and editing, web and interactive media, photography and image editing, content creation and development, documentation and training materials, implementation of current and emerging technologies, collaboration and communication, quality assurance and testing, training, and skill development, client interaction and presentations, cross-platform adaptability, research and analysis, project management, adherence to timelines and budgets, and travel for on-site productions, events, and training. Additional job duties may include low-level technical skills and troubleshooting, customer service, troubleshooting technologies and network issues, technology maintenance and updates, hardware and software installation, testing and ensuring equipment is operational, and willingness to learn.

Special Requirements of the Position
Travel
Yearly attendance at ACES and/or NMSU events on the main campus, extension offices, agricultural experimental stations, district offices, conferences, etc.

Work hours may be adapted to work early mornings, extended afternoons, and/or weekends.

Physical Effort; Loading, unloading, setup, and teardown of IT/multimedia equipment in and out of vehicles, to different locations, including but not limited to indoor/outdoor settings, extension offices, fairgrounds, ag science centers, conference rooms, etc.
Lifting requirements; requires handling of average IT/multimedia equipment up to 40 pounds. Standing and walking is also required.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Environment: Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.

Physical Effort: Moderate physical activity.

Lifting Requirements: Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.

Risk: Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
