Summary: New Mexico State University’s Global Campus seeks an A/V Media Specialist who will support the multimedia needs for New Mexico State University. This includes lectures, athletics, special events and other miscellaneous activities or special occasions. Position may be eligible for alternative work arrangement.
Classification Summary:
Develops interactive media and training materials for faculty and staff clients. Trains clients how to utilize software applications.
Classification Standard Duties:
Coordinates with programmers, animators, graphic designers, audio and video production personnel; evaluates and modifies content to conform to client needs analysis Trains clients how to utilize web applications and technologies. Consults with clients on selection, use, and design of web and multimedia materials and operation of CMS software; serves as a liaison between clients and web developers. Plans and tracks projects. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Education- Bachelor's degree in a related field
Experience- No previous work experience required.
Equivalency- Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience as approved by Human Resource Services.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
nowledge of planning and scheduling techniques. Knowledge of computer animation programs, processes and production equipment. Knowledge of professional CMS software, techniques, and standards. Knowledge of established programming procedures and programming languages.
Skills in the utilization of specified computerized graphic design programs. Project planning skills. Organizing and coordinating skills. Skill in designing and/or importing web pages.
Ability to design and implement non-standard computer software education programs to meet specific needs. Ability to implement and troubleshoot programming changes and modifications. Ability to develop programming specifications within defined parameters. Ability to provide or arrange for training. Ability to develop training aids and instructional materials using a range of media. Ability to assess and maintain quality of programming structure, design, and coding. Ability to provide technical guidance and training to end users. Ability to plan, implement, test, and troubleshoot system software. Ability to provide a range of systems training and/or support activities for users. Ability to plan and implement production and operational schedules.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
The A/V Media Specialist's role is to support the multimedia needs for New Mexico State University. This includes lectures, athletics, special events and other miscellaneous activities or special occasions.
The candidate would be responsible for working directly with Instructional Media Services at New Mexico State Global Campus to support the university's administration, faculty, directors, and end-users to assist with audio visual requirements for all athletic and university-wide events.
Duties include:
• Set-up and install all audio visual equipment such as microphones, speakers, video projection screens, classroom technology for all approved NMSU events.
• Set up of all multimedia equipment
• Serve as on-site technicians for events such as seminars, lectures concerts, ceremonial occasions, athletic events, meetings, conventions, and presentations and other assignments
• Able to operate video cameras and have a working knowledge of video and audio production
• Troubleshoot issues in a time-sensitive manner
• Provide end-user training as required to support Media Productions
• Maintain inventory of all audio/video equipment
• Document and follow preventative maintenance procedures
• Assist in scheduling and tracking the location of all equipment and media asset
• May supervise student staff
